The concept of living with total strangers for a week, in a foreign country, with only sketching as a common bond, was daunting, but boy was it worth it. The chateau is a magnificent venue, the host(s) provided us with an excellent itinerary for the pursuit of art, yet frivolous activities abounded.

The Chateau feels like it’s alive - like history and culture pours through the walls and envelops you like a warm hug. Abby and her adorable little pup made the experience truly unforgettable - from the food, the delicious morning lattes, the wine, to the community of writers and lifelong friends I made there.

Abby’s welcoming kindness, the camaraderie of the other guests, the instruction were all so much fun! There were daily walks in nature, “forest bathing”! Don’t even get me started on the exquisite cuisine created by Chefs Frances and Arlette!! I could go on and on. To sum it up - run, don’t walk to Chateau Borie’s well filling retreats!

I highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking to immerse themselves in their art while enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the French countryside. It was a truly magical experience, and I can't wait to return for my third retreat at the Chateau!

This was my first ever non-work related retreat and this experience has made me eager to do many more of these hopefully at the chateau. It was the perfect combination of the people, the place, the food, the information we gained and the lasting memories we made! The idyllic environment of the chateau in a lovely French countryside was the perfect setting for a weekend dedicated to financial empowerment and personal growth for us ladies.

Abby's retreat attracted a group of warm and positive people – I couldn't believe how well the group meshed, and we still keep in touch today. I picked up painting again after a long break, and was inspired to keep going with it when I returned home. Truly life changing, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I had the pleasure of being a retreat guest at Chateau de Borie for one magical week, and it became an experience that is truly a highlight of my life.
It was my first time staying in a Chateau, and I didn’t quite know what to expect. I quickly learned that the Chateau was once a winery, and through Abby’s beautiful storytelling, its history, along with her vision, courage, and journey, brought the experience vividly to life. She shares the story of what existed before her, and how she followed her dream all the way to the South of France to create a place for gathering, creativity, and retreat.
From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed with warmth and care. It felt less like staying at an estate and more like being welcomed into a friend’s home, one set within the most tranquil, breathtaking environment. The grounds are stunning, with expansive views of the French countryside, and each room is thoughtfully themed, creatively decorated, and deeply comfortable. Waking up to jaw-dropping sunrises each morning was a gift in itself.
Another unforgettable highlight was the food. Being welcomed to three exceptional meals each day felt indulgent and nourishing in every sense. Chef James created true culinary magic, I enjoyed some of the most memorable and delicious meals I have ever experienced.
I attended the Chateau for a wealth retreat, and it exceeded every expectation. Abby has a rare and special gift for guiding guests through creative writing and reflective exercises that are both unique and expansive. The experience opened my mind, deepened my perspective, and supported meaningful personal growth.
I am profoundly grateful for what you have created and for the experience of a lifetime you offered so generously.
